who are we?

Whitley County Concerned Citizens is a non-profit organization comprised of residents and property owners in Whitley County, Indiana.   Established in November, 2010, our goal is to preserve and protect our rural community; our health, our well-being, and the natural beauty of our countryside.

mission statement

“Whitley County Concerned Citizens is dedicated to helping the governmental bodies of Whitley County provide the best environment for both the citizens and industry of Whitley County through helping craft the best regulations to ensure public health, safety, comfort, convenience, morals and general welfare of the county’s citizens.”

The present focus of our site is to provide a source of information regarding the industrial wind turbine farm proposed for Whitley County.   Wind Capital Group, out of St. Louis, MO, has targeted southern Whitley County (Cleveland, Washington and Jefferson Townships)  for the construction of a 100MW wind farm.  Industrial wind turbines are exactly that – utility scale industrial power plants – turbines that generate electricity.  As such, they should be sited in the appropriate locations, with setbacks sufficient to have no impact on residential areas.

Around the globe, those currently living within 5 miles of industrial wind turbine farms report numerous health issues, inability to sleep, loss of property values, interrupted communications, and division and hard feelings among long time friends and neighbors.    We have attempted to provide credible information regarding these issues and more.

We simply ask you to educate yourself.
